Where was the epicenter of the earthquake?
Japan is still feeling earthquakes a day after yesterday's
7.6-magnitude one, with the most recent one being a 4.9 quake in Ishikawa.
This is the location of yesterday's earthquake, in case you
forgot. Since records began in 1885, it was the largest in Ishikawa Prefecture
on the Noto Peninsula.
Minister issues a 'be alert' for additional earthquake
warnings to Japan:
Here are the most recent remarks made by Japan's chief
cabinet secretary, who just wrapped up an emergency meeting with the government
by holding a press conference in Tokyo.
According to Yoshimasa Hayashi, Fumio Kishida, the prime
minister, gave the government instructions to "put lives first" and
"understand the situation" regarding the earthquake's devastation.
He continues: "To the people of Japan, please be on
alert that there may be earthquakes for about a week of an intensity scale of
up to seven. "Residents in areas affected by a significant earthquake are
kindly asked to monitor local offices, TV, radio, and the internet for
evacuation updates and to take appropriate action."
Hayashi notes that "a total of 57,360 people have
evacuated" and that there are 120 "cases of people" who are
awaiting rescue.
